The Department of Work and Pensions have made legislative changes, meaning from Friday 17th December 2021 self-certification for sickness has been extended from 7 to 28 days and there will be no requirement for a fit note to access statutory sick pay or other benefits. This time limited change will end on 26th January 2022.
Please speak to your employer about this as you will need to self-certify for the first 28 days. If this is not accepted we may issue a private note and payment will be required before this is collected.
