Today marks the beginning of a new contract for general practice. This has been a challenge for practices as we have had to increase our provision of urgent on the day care with no extra resources. This has had an impact on availability of online bookable routine appointments and we apologise for this.
We hope further negotiations may ease the pressure on general practice, but until then we will be testing a new appointment layout and tweaking this as we go along.
Please remember if you require an urgent on the day appointment you will be given a time to attend. We don’t have the flexibility of times as we do for routine medical problems.
