There has recently been some BBC media coverage on a weight loss injection that will be available in March 2025.
This injection may be suitable for patients who have a BMI of 35+ and at least one obesity-related health problem.
Currently this injection is not prescribed by the GP. The local ICB is currently expanding weight loss services and hopefully later in 2025 this may be available in our area.
Patients who are obese and have health issues who would like to be referred to the weight loss service, can book an ANP appointment to discuss this.
